Things that make you go Oooooo (March 2010)

I've been mad as a March hare this month (sorry bad pun!) getting things organised for Project Panda, which is in just over a month, working, studying and meeting old friends so it's been a very eventful month online and off  so I'm taking a time out  now to give you the March edition of Things that make you go Oooooo

Something Kinda Beautiful

JOYCE is delighted to announce a truly unique charity programme in aid of UNICEF, a collaboration with critically-acclaimed fashion label Rodarte, luxury brand SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, and famous actress Maggie Cheung. Rodarte designers, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, have handmade four one-of-a-kind creations specifically for this charitable initiative. Each piece is inspired by Maggie Cheung and references one of her films: In the Mood for Love, Hero, Clean, and Heroic Trio. The four stunning pieces have been captured in a short film by Wing Shya with music by Peter Kam. For every click of the short film on YouTube from now to 31 March 2010, JOYCE will donate HK$1 to UNICEF.

Snapshot Tuesday 23.3.2010

Life seems to be getting in the way of my blogging time lately, with "Project Panda" just over a month away there's still so much to do and organise before I leave. I'm really looking forward to the chance to work more closely with my black and white friends after "Mission Panda" last year in which I saw a total of 6 Panda's in 3 different countries this will be a dream come true!

So this is an advance apology for my recent and future lack of blog entries and a thank you to everyone who has followed this blog and commented on my entries as it really does motivate me to post more even when I don't have the time.

I would love to get to know some of my blog readers out there so please do comment and post a little introduction about yourself as well as a link to your blog, if you have one, as I'm always looking for new and interesting reads.

If you all want to know a little more about me then feel free to follow me on Twitter or ask me any question you can think of on my Formspring

Love & Hugs to you all

Beauty Blitz: Experimenting with Make-up

 Vanity by Simple Tess

I've decided I really want to experiment more with my make-up and try out new products, colours and techniques. I bought a whole new brush set over a year ago and haven't used any of them yet (I'm also confused as to what half of them are for) and my liquid eyeliner technique makes me look more panda than chic. I feel like I've been stuck in a make-up rut for the past few years, I've had the same look and have been using the same products for a long time so now is the time for a change!

I have really sensitive skin when it comes to make-up and I have to be careful what products I use as often they make me break out or even worse go red and swell which isn't a good look. So I've been doing research on a few products and this week I took the plunge and decided to go out and buy a few new things to try out.

1. Dior - Diorshow Mascara
2. Lancome - Flash Retouche
3. Dior - Mascara Ultimeyes
4. MAC - Viva Glam Gaga
5. Benefit - Lemon Aid
6. Figs & Rouge - Geranium Balm

Overall I'm very pleased with all these products and instead of writing a long boring review on them for you to read I thought I would make a short video showing me trying a few of them out so you can judge for yourself how effective they are.

If you have any questions about any of the products I have used feel free to leave a comment or visit my formspring and ask a question there:

Daily Outfit: 5th March 2010

" Curiouser and curiouser!"

I ventured out of the batcave today, dispite still having the sniffles, to go see 3D Alice in Wonderland, lucky for me I had a free £10 cinema gift voucher so it was like going to see it for free and even luckier the cinema wasn't packed full, I guess I'm the only Disney freak in town.

Without giving too much away I loved the movie, it's a lot more Disney than Tim Burton but not that that's a bad thing, the cast were perfect and the visuals awesome! If you get a chance you must see it in 3D it's by far the best movie I've seen in 3D so far!

Skull Hairclips - Heidi Seeker
Red Bow Hairband - Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Necklace - Tarina Tarantino
Cardigan - Forever21
Dress - Emily Temple Cute
Bracelet - Handmade by moi
Tights - ???
Shoes - Vivienne Westwood

Oh and if you're wondering about those lace ears on my wall they'll be a post about them soon *wink*

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow...

It seems that no matter what you do to try and avoid getting a cold the germs always seem to get you in the end! I've been feeling so sick and gross lately that I felt I needed to do something to make myself feel fabulous again, so the victim this time was my wild untamed shaggy grown out fringe.

I must admit I've been quite tempted to just let it grow out like the rest of my hair and keep it looking like a wild, shaggy, untamed beast but I do like having a fringe...

For the past few years I've been responsible for cutting my own fringe, which I admit sometimes isn't the best idea, but it's cheaper and easier than visiting a salon. The last time I asked for a fringe trim the stylist ended up hacking my hair to pieces, I wouldn't have minded so much but I was in the process of growing my hair long and that was a year's worth of growth he hacked off but I digress...

It's great being able to see again, the constant hair in my face look has given me a twitch, and I always feel like having a fringe instantly makes you look younger.

I'm still feeling slightly icky but getting better and the new fringe makes me feel all shiny and new, so it gets two Fonzie style thumbs up from me!

What's in my Bag #1

As it's the start of a new month I thought it was about time to clear out my handbag, it seemed to have gained weight since the beginning of the month but that's always the way isn't it girls?

This is my most prized, loved and used bag by Vivienne Westwood who you all know by now I have a slight obsession with. This is probably the most "normal" bag I own as my others are less practical and more novelty such as my Timmy Woods Eiffel Tower bag and my Black Labrador bag in honour of my own pooch James.

I'm very fussy about my bags and always seem to spend far more than I should on them but that being said I only own a handful of them so I can be excused right?

Anyway enough about the bags here's what was inside:

Givenchy Glasses
Keys
Loungefly Hello Kitty purse
Pack of Tissues
Anti-bacterial hand gel
Burt's Bees Lip balm
Hello Kitty blotting paper
Dior lip gloss ring
Various receipts and lists
Little Book of Calm
Dental Floss
Mac Hello Kitty Mirror
A lollipop
Perfume (which I think is J'adore by Dior)
A pen

And not pictured was half a bottle of Evian, an empty packet of chewing gum, my phone and my camera which I was using to take the pictures.

Now it's your turn so tell me what's inside your bag?
